For going off the track……..what series or governing body was that rule taken from ? ? ? If you take a shortcut for an advantage it is understandable but otherwise it’s hard to understand the logic……

Scott you need to give more details…..does the engine crank over when you push teh button and not fire or does it do nothing ? ??
Did it stop suddenly the last time you used it ?? ? Have you been disassembling anything on it ? ??
The more information you give the more chance someone can help….! !

Why can’t you take sample and send it off for analysis if there is a protest. ? ?
Buying at each track is a great idea as long as the service is OK, a reasonable price is agreed and stuck to.
PS Mark what class made you ill ?

Dennis, I suppose if you say so I must be wrong, and interestingly enough you did not even try to understand why you are losing power.

    Dennis,
If I understand the way you are explaining the valve assembly, I believe you will be losing power on your motor.
Also, the valve only needs to be disassembled every 3 races or so, doing it more often means you have to adjust it on a more regular basis to get your opening point correct.

I will just have to guess on the revs and jetting then, thanks for the gearing response.

PS mike it was watkins glen…….! !!
Now ten bonus points for you if you can tell me what was faulty on the first car he drove a F1 race on causing him to come in early…… !
And another ten if you can name the F1 driver who recommended to his own team to draft him in…! !

Yes racersdad, but drive a decent formula or F1 car these days and you will find a stop and a go pedal – same as any direct drive kart…..Shifters keep you a bit busier on the track but direct drive will teach you about as much as you need to know (at far less cost)….as always different people have different preferences….. !! !

I would put the money into something else for your kart instead, it will only give you an idea of mainjet, which is not the most important thing in a max carb.

    Rich,
Yes the gears have to be aligned in a very specific order. Even one tooth off knocks about a thousand revs off the top end and gives you vibration. Download the engine service manual and you will see the marks which have to be lined up or PM me and I will e-mail the manual to you.

Your balancing shaft may have been misaligned or skipped a tooth hence giving you the vibration which may have been assumed to be an axle.
You should know as soon as you go out….! !
