Thanks for the update Dave. Do you have any intel from the airport side about whether or not we are getting closer to a reopening??!!

    Cris (or anyone),

Can anyone update us on what all the dirt movement is around the entrance to the Track and around the Track? Just curious!

    Nick,

I had the exact same situation at home! All by myself with no easy way to get the kart off of the trailer so that I could store the trailer and/or work on the kart.

I splurged and bought a KartLift Pro and it works great with my Arrow DD2 and Harbor Freight 4×8 trailer. I leave my kart on the garage floor, the trailer folded and stored vertically and the KartLift folded flat. When I need to work on the kart, I just grab the KartLift and use it as my kart stand. It is easy to lift by myself and transfers onto my trailer easily as well. When I get to the track, if no one is around, it makes moving it around a snap. Highly recommend it.

    Stacey,

Another vote for a DD2 class!

    Jim,

How hard would it be to organize and advertise a “DD2 Tuesday” lunchtime series??? I’m hoping that we can establish a weekly (or every other week) get together of the local DD2 karters for some test/tune and impromptu racing. Your thoughts???

    Mike,

I just wanted to thank you for your help last year with my kart! Being a newb, I really appreciated how you so readily lent a hand and shared your knowledge.

Have a great time with your new home and business!!!

    Thanks for everything!

    Jim,

What is the likelyhood of having enough DD2’s to have at least a club race class at the Track for them?

Of course, what are your thoughts about the DD2’s in the CSC? (I know, I know, another class etc. but had to ask!)

    Mike J,

Thanks for the kind words!! It’s going to be a fun season 😀

Mike Frank sure was a great help in getting my tires changed, etc. I was glad to have him around – I learned alot!

Speaking of Brad, he and Ron certainly got my kart back into running shape after my DNR in GJT. Brad really went above and beyond to get me back in the game – He stands behind his engines! I also appreciated all his help in the days leading up to Sunday’s race. Where else, other than IMI, can you get parts fabricated in short order, etc to keep things running on race day??

    Ken,

Was that you that I was trying to catch with my own LEFT FRONT flat tire?!!! That’s too much! I think it went flat 2 or 3 laps into the race. Boy, was I bummed 😥 I was thinking the same thing – “Just make it to the end without sliding off on one of those sharp right handers or taking someone else out!!”

This was my first race also – what a blast!! I had a great time in the Heat Race. There’s a big difference in just driving around the track by yourself and trying to go as fast as possible while avoiding the mayhem.

Thanks to all the organizers for a great day! You realize real quickly on race day that you wouldn’t be able to do any of this without a ton of help from friends (Thanks Jack Warrington, Mike Jansen & Mike ?) and others!!

    Mike,

They immediately recognized how green I am and jacked up the price a little! Hopefully at the Track on Sunday, it won’t be entirely obvious. Then again, I am still a virgin. Be gentle.

Re: at Brad’s, is the discount any better if you drive your kart into the shop and ask for a fillup??

I’m going to let you go for the “wear the dress discount”. My legs are way too skinny!

Are you going to be at the Track on Sunday? Hope so!

Today, I just picked up a 5 gal can of MS98 for $41.65 and a 5 gal can of C12 for $51.00 for a buddy. IMI is probably alot less, but if you don’t have time or live down south, try TK. Of course, if I can, I will try to support Brad at IMI also.

The place is a breeze to find:

    North on I-25
    Exit 8th Ave.
Go down the ramp and go straight through the light at 8th Ave
It’s the 2nd building on the left.

    Going home to the south:

Go south back to 8th Ave
Turn right, go under I-25 and take a right (the southbound lane does a “U”)

    Everyone,

Thanks for the info! Just another couple of questions.

So it sounds like either K, SA or M Snell’s will pass tech.

My old Arai is a great helmet, but does have a pretty good pressure point on my forehead. I was over at Vickery trying on alot of theirs and found that some of the Shoei’s felt pretty good. However, they don’t make any “K” or “SA” types. I just wanted to make sure that a “M” Snell would work before considering it.

Also, it seems that the K’s will be a little less expensive than the SA’s because they are made without the fireproofing.

    Is that the only difference??

Finally, I would love to try on an Arai SK-5 before ordering one. Anyone know where I could find a Med or Lrg???

Thanks again for taking the time to help this newbie!!

    Jeff

BTW, spent Saturday afternoon at the Track. I think the smile on my face is still there. It’s going to be a very interesting place on race day!!

    Okay,

Which one? Does it have to be a current Snell, etc.???

I have an old Arai Motorcycle helmet (Snell 85) that still looks great. Is it a doorstop now???

    Thanks again for the input!!

    Thorton,

I live in the Parker area and suggest you call/go see Barry Lewis over at BilletPerformanceKarting.com. His number is (303)841-4855. He could definitely answer alot of your questions. (FWIW, Barry has alot of previous jet ski experience himself!)

I’m turning 44 this year and this will be my first foray into TaG kart racing. With the Track so close (<5mins), I'm pumped about the upcoming season!

    P.M. me with any questions!

    Jeff
