InactiveMy radiator for my rotax 125 is pretty beat up. If I replace, do I have to replace with a rotax or can I get one locally with a drain? Is the internal impeller set for the pressure drop through the rotax? If I changed, could I add an external pump if necessary?
I may try to enter some TAG Master events next year (as I have not taken anyone out yet) and don’t want to have any problems doing so. If I change, I would like to add the convenience of a drain and possibly keep the engine cooler with a larger radiator. . Or…..is all this a mistake?
Thanks,
Pat

For RMax, you must use the Rotax rad. TaGUSA rules use to allow for a change in rad but no longer. So for racing, if you are going by TagUSA or RMaX, you have to use the standard Rotax rad. We have them in stock if you need one.
If you are just going to play with it, put on it what ever you want. The internal water pump will handle just about any rad fine. We use to switch for Tag and did so many times with zero problems.

InactiveThanks Doug. Does the local CSC events rule under TaGUSA and RMax?
See you soon with my little engine in hand. Pretty cool you can put the thing under your arm for how fast it goes!

Inactivei looked and looked for a used rotax radiator and found none. So expect to pay $300-$325 for a new silver rotax radiator.
One suggestion: does it leak? if so and the leak is not bad I have a repair place that is very good!!
thanks

InactiveShoot, that’s all. At that deal. I’ll get 4 or 5 just for the heck of it!
Maybe I’ll take an evening and try to smooth out some of the fins.
Thanks!
