Well this forum has been about dead. Any bets on what class has the most rubbing in turn 1 since the all mighty keesling has stated we will be running down hill….Bout time….I would like to send out a friendly reminder that practice day is practice day and anyone that thinks we should run over each other on practice day should not be racing and I think if the father of the kid that ran over me in grand junction on practice day reads this should humble himself a little..or maybe a lot anyhow I am done with that so jansen whats up……
May 27, 2009 at 3:42 pm #62815Jeff FieldParticipantI saw your accidente at GJ, but didn’t get to ask if you were ok till I saw you going back out for some laps. Hope you and your equipment are good to go.
I think this is MHC #3. As for the rubbing? Has to be one of those rolling start classes. :loony:
May 27, 2009 at 5:01 pm #62816Mike JansenParticipantLike I’ve always said:
You can’t win a race in the first corner you can only lose it!
And I see waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much racing in warm ups. Unless there’s a trophy girl handing out trophies for the first crash, what’s the point?Hope you like this story about Indy and trophy girls:
This was my Dad’s 60th year at Indy. He was telling us about the hottest race at Indy when his favourite driver won, Bill Vukovich 1953. In those days your driving equipment was a T shirt, pants, leather gardening gloves along with your helmet and goggles. And Hollywood would send a celebrity/starlet to the race to present the trophy. Anyway the “Mad Russian” wins the race and comes to the winner’s circle covered in oil and grime. When he took off his helmet and goggles it was the only part of his body clean! He then grabs Cyd Charrise (google her to find out if you don’t know who she was) plants a big kiss on her while she’s wrapped in his arms. She was (and I say was) in a white cotton dress that looked like she’d actually been in the race too since it was covered in oil! He got a big kick telling that story.
So when are we going to get trophy girls? Jim, you saving up for the Pepsi race?
Hope everyone had a good Memorial Weekend and Rich’s Fundraiser went well.
May 27, 2009 at 5:33 pm #62817Justin MuellerParticipantYeah I am good shoulder hurt a little but that was just weakness leaving the body..:LOL After barry replaced the steering column and the entire right side of the kart we rolled out again..Definately a fun track.. As for the father of the kid JERK….he said that is racing…on practice day…….Well as far as a trophy girl I did see jim trying on a school girl outfit in the trailer so maybe he has a suprise for us……..The best part of downhill racing is turn one in the tag classes.
May 27, 2009 at 6:16 pm #62818Mike JansenParticipantI didn’t say or write this…. :usa:
Jerky has to ask himself this:
If you ran over his kid, the equipment was wrecked and then he came over to you with the same concern and you mirrored HIS comments. What do you think the outcome and feelings would be then?
I say you go look for the kid or the parent and tell him you’re going to have a repeat of the last incident, only you as the instigator. But tell race control prior to punting him off the track… Perhaps then he’ll realize he has Analcranalitis and he will pull his head out his butt…
The answers are simple. It’s the questions that are difficult :usa:

Mike, it may be tough to get the trophy girl to come out and lay on the grass to present your podium award? (remember, there were camera’s there)
Hope everyone had a good Memorial Weekend and Rich’s Fundraiser went well.
Memorial day = Tired.
Richs benefit = It was great Mike!
Shows the true spirit of the racers here in Colorado!!! + the amount of pm contacts I’ve recieved on Ekn really blow me away how much of the country was watching what we did for a fellow racer and his family. They have been following our local forum, Caring Bridge and Ekn to get the latest information. Special thanks to those who donated auction items, raffle items, cash donations as well as the volunteer help. It was a great cause and a good time for all.
Thanks to everyone for the participation.
Rick
ps. anxiously awaiting the photo callage? Email me the racey stuff.
May 27, 2009 at 7:23 pm #62820Justin MuellerParticipantHonestly I was going to punt that kid into next week but he was humble and said he was really sorry but because he was under 18 I thought it was the right thing to do was to talk to his father, I did and he came off like an a$$ Hole so really the 700 bucks in parts is nothing compared to someone acting like he did especially in front of his son. He said thats racing LOL anyway im kickn a dead horse I think parents should be a good spokesperson and a role model This guys kids were scared of him …….So back to turn one I will be there watchn put on a show boys and girls I think the weather may actually be kind and we will have a good time……… :win :trophy :rev :co :~
May 27, 2009 at 8:31 pm #62821Mike JansenParticipantThe sad thing about it Justin is that people (or parents) like this think they’re big stuff when they can shove and intimidate their kids and that always $#@%@ me off. Just once I’m going to come up to a parent doing the fear thing and ask them if they’d like to intimidate me instead.
And with your new Tat I’d be scared or stuupid to mess witchya so I have no idea what he was thinking. That’s right he wasn’t… 😆

Hopefully she doesn’t kick your a$$ too Mike?
May 27, 2009 at 10:09 pm #62823Mike JansenParticipantI have yet to see a woman yell at their kid. It’s little league dad or worse.
Besides, I’m a lover and not a fighter. I might know AJ Foyt but that doesn’t mean I am LIKE AJ… 8)
But I’d stay outside of slapping distance just to be safe…
May 27, 2009 at 10:42 pm #62824Rick SchmidtParticipantDid you tell Aj you were laying in the grass while there was a race going on?
May 28, 2009 at 2:30 am #62825Justin MuellerParticipantAt least we got something going here LOL I don’t do the fighting thing anymore Not that I wouldn’t like to punch that dude square in the nose but the law doesn’t take kindly to people that look like me. Reguardless I would be the first one in jail……the bald tattoo’d guy is always the guilty one trust me on that… We should put up a ring sign a consent form and anyone that wants to go dukes could hit the ring..racing and fighting that could be cool..Sign me up LOL I am sure jim would like to add more entertainment He is always taking everything to the next level..Good job jimbo the track is getting more intense every year My hair is off to you…..
May 28, 2009 at 3:32 am #62826RogerBonhamParticipantJustin,
Maybe we can get Matt up to 5 of my pushups this weekend… We will see Sunday… Anyone think 5 pushups are easy, come over to the Dogpound and well, I guess we will see. I promise no one handers this time… LOL.. ARE WE READY TO RACE?????? Nice hair Justin…
RogMay 28, 2009 at 3:33 am #62827Kirk DeasonParticipantI’ve boxed a few times, turns out, that shit hurts. Also, it turns out, I’m not very good at it. But Justin, I’ll fight you in the inaugural Rumble at The Track. You can only hope to contain this 148lb can of fury.
nice reinvigoration of the board.
Jansen, I’d fight you, but you have too much of a reach advantage. I think Rick is right, we need photo evidence of your trip.
I found Cyd sitting on top of one of our heat race victory trophies:
May 28, 2009 at 1:53 pm #62828Justin MuellerParticipantMatt for sure couldn’t hang with the pushups But he did give it hell….. so here is what we do After we all race each person puts in 20 bucks and we do the 5 almighty brutal pushups and believe me they are A$$ kickers Last man standing takes the pot… anyone over 220 or that drives a shifter gets a 1 minute lag if they fall first..anyone up.. oh yeah then we can all get in the ring and box…
