There is a good sized group coming from Utah to play with you all. Tell the whaether people to hold off on the rain til monday. Should have 4 to 8 racers coming over. see you all this weekend. Jack :sun:
October 5, 2006 at 4:06 am #55058fastgParticipantit was decided at the beginning of the season – if it rains – NO RACE
Don’t really care if it’s cold / overcast, but we ALL decided we wouldn’t run in the rain… RIGHT?? (except for the GGP) Not that I would hesitate, but based on the initial decision – I’m not geard up for it – that’s why I didn’t buy a rain setup – shouldn’t be any debate at this point. If the decision changes next year – I’ll come with rain gear…
And yeah, can everybody pray… please.. no rain… (my mom is coming to see me race)

P.S. What is the plan for a rain day??

October 5, 2006 at 4:28 am #55059cgordonParticipantI’d like to see us race in the rain with whatever new or used rain tires we have. Racing in the rain at the Rotax Grand Nationals was a blast. Of course, I’d like to get more laps out of the YJPs I had to buy for that race.
I know that CSC wasn’t going to race in the rain except for Greeley, but last year at the January mtg we said we would race in the rain and then the CSC rules came out saying we wouldn’t race in the rain (after I bought rain tires and wheels) so it wouldn’t bother me if the rules are changed again. :idn:
I wouldn’t like to see a rain date on the following weekend – too short notice. I’ve already made other plans.

October 5, 2006 at 4:53 am #55060fastgParticipantoh, no no…
THERE WAS A DECISION – NOT TO RUN IN THE RAIN – that was the decision, THAT is how I planned my season, THAT is how I bugeted my money… want to “run for fun” in the rain? sure – lets go… were at the track, geared up… fine… but DONT start messing with what EVERYBODY AGREED ON BEFORE THE SEASON STARTED…. !!
or… do I not count and should just shut up and go with what ever happens….
or – since I don’t have a rain setup – how about everybody run regular MG Yellows, no rain gear, no rain bucket on the intake – you know, just the regular stuff – and ok, I’ll go…
still smiling,
Gary
October 5, 2006 at 8:22 am #55061AnonymousInactiveI’m with Dough, lets run rain or shine.
October 5, 2006 at 2:17 pm #55062AnonymousInactiveI’ll loan you some used ones Gary. You never know it may move you up in the championship!
October 5, 2006 at 3:32 pm #55063Mike JansenParticipantI’ve got a great idea!
Let’s just throw out the rule book and race, all we’re racing for is a plastic trophy and a postition in the championship who cares about if we finish number one, two, or seven?!
G, let’s go find some off road tires and we’ll just cut the track in half or better yet, let’s pretend that we’re going to adhere to the track design that Jim paid big bucks to have designed and paved and you and I will use the cutout on the main straight! Think of it, we’ll set the track record for fastest lap and when everyone else realizes what we do, they’ll still be half a lap BEHIND us! Yea, that’s the answer!
G, better yet! I’m going to get a wankel engine on my chassis and race my class. Obviuosly the rules don’t count since they change all the time. Won’t my class be BLOWN AWAY when I pull out in a TaG kart with 48 HP. I’ll take P1 by just mashing the gas pedal and coast through the corners. NO ONE WILL PASS ME!!! Yea, that’s the answer!
And the Kids in Kid cart can use their Modified Comers vs. the stock Honda’s. They both have 50cc so what’s the big issue. Yea, that’s the answer!
And Junior 80 class, get those blueprinted, balanced, ground, keyed Briggs and show em what a REAL motor does. Yea, that’s the answer…
And I’ve got a set of Vega Whites! They’re real sticky G, you can have my other pair. Your corner speeds will be SO much faster! Yea, that’s the answer!
This is an outlaw series, we don’t need a rule book! We’ll be like Calvin and Hobbs playing baseball, the rules change ALL THE TIME! Yea, that’s the answer!
…Don’t let character and integrity change just because there’s a little heat in the kitchen, I thought our group was better than that. What kind of an example are we teaching the kids out there? The next thing someone will tell me is that it’s okay to shoot and harm innocent kids; that the man was experiencing difficulties and life wasn’t kind to him and he just couldn’t handle the heat so it’s okay to bend the rules; let him out of prison; this was an isolated incident; it won’t happen again….
Drastic examples I’ll admit but can you see how crazy this is? Hits home, doesn’t it?
Rules are there for a reason. Sometimes it’s not fun to adhere to them….
October 5, 2006 at 5:12 pm #55064AnonymousInactiveDecission made at beginning of year rain no race, period. If you change the rules someone better be prepared to supply everyone with rain tires. I agree with Gary. Angie, Rusty please someone put this nonsense to bed.

October 5, 2006 at 5:47 pm #55065cgordonParticipantJust to throw gasoline on the fire 👿 – the CSC rules posted on the CSC web page actually don’t specifically say we won’t race in the rain. They say racing in the rain is at the discretion of the race director.
I wonder what happens if half the races are run in the dry then it starts raining?
:crazy
In any case, it doesn’t look like it’s going to be an issue. The latest forecast shows Sunday probably being dry.

October 5, 2006 at 5:57 pm #55066Doug WelchParticipantOh lighten up everyone. I think most of us are just having a little fun. Do we need to have some “Yo Mama” jokes?

I called the Book in Las Vegas and they said that the over under is 95% that the weathermen and women in Colorado are WRONG.
Overcast and cool perhaps but look on the bright side, the engines will be producing more power with the cooler weather!
Told you I had a good bookie… And what color are Kathy Sabine’s eyes???
October 5, 2006 at 8:39 pm #55068AnonymousInactiveAll I know is she’s got two of em.
Oh and since you’re book is so great, what are the odds of a high speed, reverse, low level fly by from Jansen.
My crystal ball says………
October 5, 2006 at 9:56 pm #55069Doug WelchParticipantI wanna know the over/under for laps completed in the main event by Mike!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I may want in on that action.
October 5, 2006 at 10:35 pm #55070AnonymousInactiveHis book says…… over 1 and under 21 Doug.
October 6, 2006 at 3:28 pm #55071Mike JansenParticipantHar Dee Har Har Har…
My bookie says over under is 18 but load up on the over. You’ll pay vig if you take the under! And the high speed reverse passes aren’t on the board…
I performed an exorcism on my kart so the gremlins are all gone. It’s had an attitude adjustment and so has the driver.
Plus, I’ve got my lucky tiger striped male marble bag for added speed and luck… :woohoo I figure the visual you all have right now is worth a second a lap 8)
