ParticipantI noticed a problem with the comer class points. First problem is Brandon is not in first place, should be Colby Yardley, Brandon Moore second, and Third should be Austin Farley. Second problem is there were only 8 comers that raced that day, and Nine competitors got points? I love to see us leading in the points, but we would like that to be earned. I appreciate your hard work Angie and hopefully with the help of karters we can help you to keep everything straight.

ParticipantBrian,
Thanks for going over your points, it helps when people check it! But in this case, the points are right…..
You are correct, Colby Yardley won the Main, but he is not racing the CSC series, is not a member, therefore does not get points. He is included in the field factor, however. As for the extra 2 that got points… if you notice, they are the former Animal drivers. They have both agreed to switch to the K80s, and so we gave them last place points in the Comer class, so they got something for their efforts in GJ.
I hope that nobody has a problem with that!Does that explain it ok?
Thanks again,

ParticipantAngie,
I do not understand the fact that Brandon ended up with the first place points. What happens if Colby Yardley were to register with SKUSA and the CSC? I personally think that the points should have been awarded accordingly to the actual race. If at the end of the year an individual does not join then delete there points from the calculations. Not trying to make this more difficult just fair.Brian Moore

ParticipantThat approach would mean no-one would have any reason to join until they were about to win the championship….. !! !
If you pays your money to participate in the championship, you can, if you don’t you can’t. Can’t get much fairer than that…… ?May 1, 2005 at 9:52 pm #50594hotwheels1517
ParticipantSuperslow,
If this is like most sanctioning bodies you would not be able to race all year without joining. Most bodies allow for one or two events before you must be a member. I want the person with the most points to win. IF ITS NOT EARNED WE DON’T WANT A CHAMPIONSHIP AT ALL!!!!!! They tried to give my son a first place trophy in Grand Junction. He was not first just the first loser “second place for those that don’t look at it as a loss”.

Proud father of Brandon no matter where he finishes, but we don’t go out to the track without expecting to get first. EARNED first that is.May 1, 2005 at 10:19 pm #50595Angie MacEwen
ParticipantBrian,
Sorry that this upsets you so much, but that is the way the points are decided this year. The CSC does allow for a couple of races without joining – to allow for the overlap with club race events, and for others who may want to go to just a couple. Those people do not get points, though. The SKUSA rule book clearly states that “only licensed member drivers may accumulate points”. And in the case of Yardley, his points would have dropped him to the bottom after Action Karting, anyway, as he will not be there.

ParticipantAngie,
Its fine I just don’t personally agree with it. I know the rules are in place, and if thats the way it is I will just have to live with it.
