Sitting at home sick?
What a bummer I can’t be there.
Rick
We missed you Booby, and I hope you are starting to feel better again. You must be getting sick and tired of being sick and tired.
Get well soon buddy!
Saturday Update:
Once again the Skylark Lounge hosted a group of Colorado Karters and the facility was top notch. It was great seeing Bob Reed healthy and back to his old self laughing it up and bench racing with his old buds. We all need to keep Rich in our thoughts and prayers as he is not in the best of shape. He has been having some rough times lately and we hope he can get back to where he was just a few short weeks ago. Gayle is standing by his side and Rich has many friends and loved ones continueing to pray for his recovery.
We introduced the SKUSAMR team with the exception of Sam who is out of the country, and Angie who was performing her scoring & timing magic at a SKUSA NorCal event in Sonoma CA. We had a good turnout and a good mix of current & future SKUSAMR members, along with the curious who have not decided on just what they are doing this year.
We discussed our schedule and displayed large drawings of the PPIR track layout. We have been answering many questions about the PPIR track, facility, garages, power hook-ups and other amentities the facility will offer on our (2) scheduled events there. As far as the schedule goes, we continue to field questions about “why Mothers & Fathers day”? It’s very simple and has everything to do with local and national schedules, coupled with availability at the facilities we are racing. We have mothers too and we wish we could have changed things up, but we simply had very few options. I will say this, we have registration data dating back to 2002, and this will not be the first time Colorado has raced on Mothers Day. However, it will be the first Mothers Day race with the pampering we are going to provide to you mothers. More to follow and be announced very soon.
We also discussed how race day will look concerning the schedule of events, safety, tech, track workers, running on the clock system, flagging, scales, our announcer and everything else you can expect from a Regional event.
We answered questions about points acquired in the Region, and points acquired from the National events. How these points will count towords Vegas vs Regional Championships.
We also handed out lot’s of free SKUSA swag and everyone walked out of there with shirts, hats, hoodies, posters and magazines. Thanks to Tom and AJ for filling the goodie box, and thanks the Cris for providing what Tony said was the best pizza he ever ate.
I can go on forever, but that is the readers digest version of how we spent our two hours. If there are specific questions, or you need additional information pertaining to our region, please do not hesitate to contact any of us. Or simply shoot me a PM. We look forward to seeing everyone in May at PPIR. I personally promise you a great run event with by far the fastest racing ever wittnessed in CO.
PPIR will be having a karting open house on March 6th if anyone is interested in standing on the infield and taking in the sights. More information real soon.
Thank You,
Curt Kistler
