Most important – a seat that fits properly.
I really liked my Ribtect seat. Worked better than any other seat I’ve owned – that include Deep Seat and Tillet.
A vest is a must-have item if you ask me. Again, Ribtect – you simply can’t go wrong with a Ribtect. Rib injuries are not uncommon in karting. They are extremely painful and take many weeks to heal completely – time that can’t be spent in the kart. So, if you bugger up your ribs, you can forget about the kart for at least 6 weeks.
A good and properly fit seat combined with a good rib vest can and will mitigate all but the very worst rib injuries.

What do you all recommend, a deep seat like a Ribtect PLUS a rib protector, or is this overkill ?
I am wondering if I wedge myself in to a tight seat do I want a vest as well, or is the seat alone adequate ?
What seat do people find best ? I hear Tillet (spelling?) mentioned as often as Ribtect.
