Muffler bearings are definitely a consumable on the Rotax and should be changed on a regular basis.
I worked at my Dad’s Body Shop as a boy and they sent me to the parts store for a lower radiator hose on a 67′ VW Beetle (air cooled) didn’t take long to question everything they said as a practical joke.
