Kind words Rick, we appreciate it.
One of the things we hoped to demontrate this weekend is that just because we call it stock moto, doesn’t mean that its slow. I have no delusions that a stocker will ever be the outright winner in a combined class like we ran this past weekend. The ICC delivers more power and it is smoother in its delivery.
The other thing I hope it demonstrates is how little out right power affects lap times and how important it is for a good driver and a quality setup in the kart. A good ICC engine produces at least 5 to 7 more hp than a stock moto. Yet we ran in front of most of them. We had the kart set up for acceleration. Greg was pulling the front tires off the ground on many corners. We may not of had a lot of hp, put we tried to put every one of them to use!
But for the average karter on a budget, this is a great class to go fast with. I made only one jet change all weekend and I expect to do zero maintenance on the engine all year! At a cost of $3,200 for a complete engine package, this is the class most shifter racers should take a long hard look at. I hope we get so many guys in it we have to have a light and heavy class.
