I do understand how to make an animal last a long time. The problem with that is the adult classes of briggs all ready get so little respect while running a 10-12 HP motor as you mentioned, so that leaves us with modding them to the hilt to make them quite fast to keep the adults interest up. Then when they figure out they need more than just one engine to race the class they end up buying one for a different class.
The animal did have quite a few problems as it was being introduced to us. The problems are pretty much fixed with in the rules of stock classes across the country. Most are running the blueprinted animals on cheep meth in stead of gas or even racing gas. Less money for the fuel, easier to tech the fuel, free additon of power, cooler running temps and cleaner internals are reasons why others and I, think meth is the fuel for us.
In fact I don’t understand why the 2 stroke crowd ties there own hands up with all this racing fuel crap and run real racing fuel in them too. Oh well, I will be interested in seeing the rules that yall seem to all ready know all about.
Russ. what do you do if your lap times are faster @ 7500 max rpm’s?
My engineered box for my animal, that you can see in my ice posting, has enabled it’s animal one crank and block to spin to 10,300 a few times with it’s target rpm of 9300 when ever I am racing it. They just start to sound proper when they are going past 10,000. I do enjoy our local guys openess to explore beyound the national rules standards of the mod animal class with alowing parts that add to a stronger more lasting combo of parts. Yet it’s still a new motor with weak spots being improved upon every day, which does make it hard to keep up and stick with a standard set of rules in the mod class. It’s very hard for me to step away from the industrial style motors. But sence I live here were sprint 2 strokes is where the numbers are, if I want to try and prove that I can beat the numbers I will have to play in their game.
Hay every one I am the “Worlds” extreme ice racing Champion. I have the plack to prove it. I beet all two of the other four strokers to get it.
Yep that was a nother dissapionting turn out of four stroke racers here in Colorado. $50.00 entry with 100% payback, TV & news paper adds with 100’s of people watching and 3 karts show up. What sanctioning body can fix that?
They always say it’s the grass roots of racing that keeps it alive. I do honestly hope the Jr. class of four strokes melds togather to form the seeds to get it growing. But the jr class will need national adult racers doing a simular thing to inspire more parents to even go that rout with their little Tony Stewarts. We can all name off a few adult Colorado national sprint 2 stroke champions even call them to get some help. How many adult four stroke Colorado National champions names do you know?
