anybody can go out and buy anything they choose, but to race in a club series or Rotax max or CSC you have rules to keep the competition somewhat even. The shifter ranks has turned into whoever got the most money gets to do whatever they want. I for one don’t want to see the Tag go that way.
As mentioned the fast guys are the ones with great driving and tunning skills, but we need to keep this tag division competitive-close racing, and growing. Increasing the advantage of the fast guys with motor change outs for the different tracks does not accomplish that.
Maybe the fast guys should be moving up to another class, instead of hanging around cleaning up.
As to what happens if a motor purchase is a bad one: anybody who wants to go out and buy a new fangled type motor other than the established and Proven ones is crazy. You get what you deserve. The rotas, bilands, leopards, sonics, etc are all established and proven-buy one of those.
