Superslow – wrong. I didn’t win the championship last year by having a clean kart (right mike?) I won it by understanding the motor and what it wanted….and I can tell you with certainty that the power valve should be cleaned as I described every race or it won’t work properly. Before I learned this I consistantly had bad starts and crazy bogging after the apex of the corner. Afterwards – no problem.
Try this: Clean your power valve as prescribed….go out on the track and run 15-20 laps (normal finals) then come in and check your power valve after it has cooled down…..it will have black tar on it…..this is not an efficient piece of machinery.
There are only a few items that were checked and cleaned on my kart on a daily basis all year – power valve, chain, carb., axle bearings and front spindles – other than that I looked like pig pen going around the track and quite honestly I didn’t care because I was in front of everybody else.
