This will become even a larger problem at Bandi when the drags start. Just the noise from the generators, kart motors and everything else going on make it very difficult to hear announcments. (Which may cost you a practice session or even qualifing session)
Dave has purchased an FM broadcast module much like what Stacy has, and Brad is about to use. My suggestion is to purchase a Home Depot construction grade boom box that runs on it’s own batteries, tune it into whatever band they will be broadcasting, crank it up and enjoy the show from wherever your pit ends up.
This technology is OK for what we are doing, however, it sometimes gets a little out of whack when other outside stuff interrupts the signal. IE: Bandis FM signal for their own sound system, the airport at GJMS, and the UFO’s at IMI.
It is getting better and someday we will roll out the big stuff for a real show, perhaps Steamboat. :cheers:
