We tested in one just for grins. You can count on two motors for the initial start up, some teams come to race day with four motors per kart at the STARS level. A complete rebuild after 30 minutes of hard running. Our guess was in the ballpark of $200.00 per rebuild. Got me thinking shifters was more affordable than I thought.
The class itself is the most exciting we have ever wittnessed. Most of the talent in the class comes from European drivers, or teams with more money to spend than the average bear. If you want to learn how to drive, the ICA class is the way to go. One mistake on track and you loose 3-5 positions. Making up that many positions has got to be tough. Get enough interest sparked and we would consider the class at a local level. Try to get the class on race day to a one motor event, IE: 5 minute qualifier, 10 lap semi and 15 lap main might do it. They ran a 25 lap main at Moran and those poor motors were spent.
So far we may have a 4 car field at best. Keep up the thread and lets see where it goes.
