To Anyone In Command within SKUSA:

I'm trying to figure out the schudule and the rules since I've only heard bits and pieces and I'm trying to seperate fact from fiction. Here's what I'd like to know:

1) It appears from the dates that we will be having 2 day races. Is the Saturday practice all day with Qualifying at the end of the day? Is it qualify early saturday and then heat races Saturday and Sunday with Mains on Sunday?

2) Are we using ONE set of tires for both days (controlled) or are we using 2 sets of tires, one set a day?

3) Are we using MG Yellows? What is the tire requirements?

I tried to get these questions answered but the website looks like it's still under construction. Thanks in advance!

Mike

Mike,
We plan on having a general information meeting as soon as next weekend. We relaize that our information has been slow, and at times confusing, but we have all had our plates full just getting to the point in where we are at today.
Most of the information we have to offer is located on www.skusamr.com with respect to our calendar, classes and rules. There is also a place where everyone can ask questions.
Today we spent most of the day testing at PPIR to assure we are going to be ready for our first race in May. All I can say is hold on for some of the smoothest, fastest, widest and all out most exciting racing I have seen in karting anywhere. We will have all the details at our information meeting, plus we are still planning on calling everyone in the CO Karting community. As as race weekends go we will be having move-in on Thursday afternoons, practice all day Friday, Qualifying and heats on Saturday, and possible another heat and mains on Sunday to clear out as early as possible.

All the other information about PPIR, camping, pit's, garages, schedules, other activities and what you can expect from SKUSAMR will be answered very soon.

We will be posting some pictures, track lay out, lap times, and everything else we learned today as soon as possible.

Hope to see you, and everyone else, at our first official meeting real soon.

Curt Kistler

Post Re: SKUSA Mountain Region Announce Schedule
Hi every body: what I would like to see as a race weekend format is practice on Saturday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm may be and then qualifying till 6:00 pm or so and then on Sunday 2 or 3 heats and then the main.

I think in this way we can have more racers on the track and makes life a little bit easer not having to take so many days off of work.

Just my .02
